Act & Art Training For Trainers

Act&Art Training Program and Training for Trainers aims to deepen the knowledge, experience of youth workers on social inclusion of refugee/migrant youth, to develop their capacity to perform art and creativity activities with using the Act&Art Toolbox to connect refugee/migrant youth and local community as a result.

The program is innovative in several ways:

1. It is revised and developed in line with the feedback of the youth workers who will receive the training and will apply locally, as well as with partners with international expertise.

2. It is equipped with non-formal education methods and digital tools.

3. It is accessible to everyone for free, and its sub-modules are flexible to be integrated into different programs together or separately.

The Act&Art Training Program has been implemented as a 6-day pilot training with more than 25 youth workers from SloveniaBelgiumTürkiyeFrance and Germany in Kranj, Slovenia. Thanks to its innovative and inclusive content, the youth workers who participated in this training have increased their capacity and improved their youth work in regards to using arts and creativity as a tool for social inclusion and cohesion. The attendees have later implemented what they have acquired during the Act&Art Training for Trainers with a target group of refugees, migrants and young people with migrant backgrounds and used the content and tools of the program in practice directly with our project’s target group.

The Training Programme and content produced is open to any youth worker from all over the EU to learn and improve their capacity.

Moments from Act&Art Trainig For Trainers in KRANJ, SLOVENIA!

T

he first day of the ACT&ART project began with a fun energizer and team-building exercise. During the first day, our multinational team developed a digital dictionary and created an ‘awareness through empathy’ map. In the afternoon, we were able to learn about refugee and immigrant rights with the guidance of the invited expert in that field. Although the day was busy and productive, we were still able to enjoy the sunny city of Kranj, carnival costumes, and the delicious Slovenian festive dish named ‘’Krofi’’. We can’t wait for tomorrow! More interesting workshops and fun times to come! Follow us!

oday, ACT & ART participants started the day with a Peer Learning session, followed by listening to the best practices. After the coffee break and taking pictures, the day continued with an intercultural dialogue. Our working afternoon was dedicated to the topic of Inclusion through Art & Creativity, which was divided into two sessions with interesting guest speakers. And now we deserve some delicious dinner, after which we are off for our cultural night! So much knowledge and so much fun! See you tomorrow!

hat a day! After an intense day of designing upcoming workshops for youth workers in various countries, teams created presentations and shared the plan of work and goals. After dinner, we headed towards Ljubljana, where we were invited to the ART IS US - opening of an exhibition. The Art is Us project aims to use the transformative force of culture for community regeneration to respond to the severe impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on artists, the cultural sector, and social inclusion and cohesion. It equips artists, community leaders, and art educators with key skills and competences for a sustainable creative career and provides them with the opportunity to be successful innovators in their communities. The project enhances social inclusion by fostering innovative, arts-based participatory and intercultural dialogue approaches. The project effectively uses the strong experience of all its consortium members in socially engaged arts teaching and content development, e-learning and multimedia, community arts initiatives, and career guidance and skills development to design and develop a high-quality adult education course on Innovative Community Development. You can also register and have free access to all this (translated into various languages) on: https://artisus-project.eu/ But the day (and the project) did not finish there, as we had our own celebration of art, friendship, and mutual success! What a project! What a team! See you soon, dear friends!
