About our Organization
Center Rog serves as a public production space on 8.500 square meters for crafts, design, architecture and applied arts with an emphasis on sustainable development. It provides both infrastructural and programming support to the creative sector, whether that be small enterprises, non-governmental organisations, independent makers or amateurs, while also promoting the interdisciplinary cooperation required to tackle the challenges posed by the rapidly changing technological, cultural, economic and political environment.
In terms of its content, the Center Rog has devoted itself to the support of socially useful projects, while always adhering to the principles of environmental protection, circular economy and social justice. Committed to the circular use of space and with a strong cross-sectoral and international focus, while also pursuing sustainable development, Center Rog not only caters to those who directly use it but also has a positive impact on the life of the community.
Why are we participating in this project?
Our reasons for participation in this project are multi-layered. We wish to actively engage with the migrant community, youth workers and mentors through production labs, workshops, residency programmes etc. We are interested in identifying good practices, creating a network of partners sharing the same values and working for a common goal of finding mechanisms on how to empower the local migrant community. We believe in life-long learning and social inclusivity, we have formed clear values of sustainability and positive long term social impact.
Our Role in the Project
Center Rog has many expert mentors and a diverse community of users in the field of fabrication, new tech, urban crafts, design and making. Through the years of Center Rog’s pilot project RogLab, we have created an international network of partners, did regular trainings, workshops and other educational events for different target groups in the fields of new materials, fabrication and technology. With our knowledge and resources, we will contribute to the Act & Art project by identifying the needs of youth workers, the migrant community, co-creating a toolkit, contributing to the website and conducting training of mentors and youth workers.
